Lionel Messi continues his impressive start to life in the United States as he scored a brace against Orlando City SC to help Inter Miami win the Florida derby 3-1.

It was his fifth goal in three games for the MLS franchise after a last-minute match-winning free kick against Cruz Azul, after coming off the bench on his debut.

Messi has showed off numerous different goal celebrations and Sports Brief looks at the six iconic poses of his career.

6. Wakanda Forever versus Orlando

The latest in his goal celebration arsenal since he moved to MLS is the Marvel-inspired Wakanda Forever gesture, which is done by crossing both arms over the chest. He did this after his first goal against Orlando City.

5. Thor against Atlanta

The 2022 World Cup winner hit a brace last week in the 4-0 win over Atlanta and made a celebratory gesture towards David Beckham on the touchline, which was initially thought to mean 'hold my beer' or even inspired by Merlin. However, Messi's wife, Antonella, explained it as another Marvel-inspired celebration after the Asgardian god of thunder - Thor - for his first son, Thiago.

4. King celebration against Liverpool

Messi scored a 35-yard free kick against Liverpool in the first leg of the 2019 UEFA Champions League semi-final to make it 3-0 in the 82nd minute. He sat in front of the camera with his arms open like a king. The Reds won the return leg 4-0, including Trent Alexander-Arnold's quickly-taken corner.

3. Fallen boot against Man United

Barcelona beat Manchester United 2-0 in the 2009 Champions League final at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome. Messi scored a header from an incredible leap and his right boot fell off. He picked it up and kissed it as he ran to the corner flag to celebrate, with the moment cemented in his legacy.

2. Tribute to Maradona against Osasuna

Argentine legend, Diego Maradona, passed away in November 2020. As noted by FC Barcelona, Messi scored a header against Osasuna days later and removed his shirt to display a Newell's Old Boys jersey with Maradona's number 10 before pointing to the sky.

1. Shirt pose at Santiago Bernabeu

Messi scored a last-minute winner in Barcelona's 3-2 victory over Real Madrid in 2017, and he removed his shirt in front of the enraged Santiago Bernabeu Stadium crowd. His bravado did not stop Los Blancos from edging La Blaugrana to the title with three points.

Top 5 times Messi fought

Sports Brief also analysed five times Messi fought with opponents after causing a mini-melee in the tunnel at half-time with Orlando City defender, Cesar Araujo.

The Argentine captain is seen as a cool-headed and humble but loses his cool occasionally, including during fiery El Clasico clashes with Pepe and Sergio Ramos.
